Nora Blithe is the author of the syndicated humor column Life Face First and the much loved humor blog about all things that lay you flat Door In Face.
Nora’s writing career began in high school math class as a way to look like she was paying attention. In reality, she was daydreaming about doing something, anything other math. Luckily, Nora’s writing skills outweighed her math skills.
In 2011, Nora launched her blog Door In Face, her first attempt at writing humor. The blog quickly gained success, and Nora knew she had found her niche. In spring of 2012, Nora’s blog was chosen by WordPress for the highly coveted front page feature known as Freshly Pressed and popularity soared.
In late 2011, Nora began writing her humor column Life Face First, a spin-off of her popular blog. Her hometown paper Verge quickly picked it up. Nora’s columns find humor in everyday aggravations and mundane calamities such as banking, home repairs, and toilet paper. She also frequently writes about cats and dogs.
On March 29, 2016, the five-year anniversary of the launch of Door In Face, Nora launched a new site, NoraBlithe.com, and retired Door In Face. A novel is in the works but no release date is yet set.
Nora and her husband Brian live with two cats and one dog in a house that is much too small for so many legs.
